New Jersey copes with messy start

EDISON - Drivers faced a slippery ride to work even though plows and salt spreaders were on the highways early this morning.

Speed restrictions were posted along parts of the New Jersey Turnpike.

NJ Transit rail riders faced delays of 10-15 minutes. Bus service in northern counties was up to 20 minutes behind schedule because of road conditions.

The Port Authority says Newark Liberty International Airport is open. A traffic management program in effect for the airport is causing some arriving flights to be delayed.
