New Jersey Animal Coalition shelter in South Orange under quarantine due to public health issues
SOUTH ORANGE - A South Orange animal shelter as been shut down by the local health department.
The village website says the New Jersey Animal Coalition's shelter on Walton Avenue is under quarantine until further notice due to public health issues.
Officials have not specified what those issues might be.

The order means no animals can be taken in or adopted out until the quarantine is lifted.
A shelter volunteer says there are 80 cats and dogs currently being housed at the facility, and all are being fed and cared for.
