JERSEY CITY - Residents are reacting to yesterday's chaotic scene on Bleecker Street in Jersey City.
The investigation centered on an apartment building where FBI, DEA, state and Jersey City police swarmed what they are calling a drug lab in the making.
Neighbors watched as agents suited up, wearing protective masks while collecting evidence. Several nearby homes and businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
Police say Jordan Gonzalez, a New York City pharmacist, is accused of setting up a drug lab, and possessing the potentially hazardous materials used to make those drugs.
He was allegedly trying to make MDA, a hallucinogen similar to ecstasy.
Gonzalez allegedly bought much of the equipment online. If convicted, Gonzalez faces 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
