National Guard members return home from Libya

WRIGHTSTOWN - A homecoming was held today at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for Air National Guard members returning from Libya.

New Jersey Air Guard's 108th Wing was sent to Libya about a month ago in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn. Their mission was to refuel planes in midair.

The work in Operation Odyssey Dawn was to support a no-fly zone over Libya and destroy loyalists. It was to prevent government forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi from carrying out air attacks on rebel forces.

Technical Sgt. Donald Smith, of Brick, says he has great satisfaction knowing he helped save the lives of many Libyan people.
