MOUNT OLIVE - A community in mourning is coming together to help the families of two Mount Olive teens who died after falling through the ice on Budd Lake.

Hundreds of friends, family and community members braved the rain tonight at St. Jude's Church in Mount Olive for a wake honoring 15-year-old Nick Cianciotto.

Nick and his friend, Clyde Schimanski III, fell through the ice on Monday. The bodies of both boys turned up after a massive two-day search.

Among the mourners at tonight's services was Melissa Phelan. She did not know the boys personally, but set up an online donation site where people could give money to help the families pay for funeral services.

In no time, $12,000 was raised for Clyde, whose family was allegedly unable to afford a funeral for their son. Included among the donations was an anonymous gift of $5,000.

A site is still active where people can make donations to the Cianciotto family.

Funeral services honoring Nick Cianciotto will be held at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.
