Mount Olive H.S. imposes fees for extracurricular activities

Parents at Mount Olive High School say they are outraged that they have to pay expensive fees for their kids to participate in after school

MOUNT OLIVE - Parents at Mount Olive High School say they are outraged that they have to pay expensive fees for their kids to participate in after school programs that were once free.

Mount Olive High School recently announced that students will now have to pay $125 for a parking space, $125 for each sports team they participate in and $50 for each club.

Many parents told News 12 New Jersey they didn't know how they were going to make the extra costs come together.

The superintendent says this is not the first time students have had to pay to participate in programs at the high school and that the budget is to blame.
