FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP - One person was killed and five people, including four students, were injured when an SUV and school bus crashed in Fairfield Township, Cumberland County.

New Jersey State Police say that the driver of an SUV crossed the center line of Highway 49 at 7:42 a.m. Thursday and collided with an oncoming school bus. The collision caused the bus to overturn.

The driver of the SUV was killed. He was identified as Larry Walker, 43.

Four special-needs students received minor injuries. An 82-year-old aide on the bus was badly injured. She was last reported to be in critical but stable condition at Cooper Medical Center.

Authorities say the injured students, all from Bridgeton, range in age from 11 to 17.
