EAST ORANGE - A mother in East Orange says her little boy was left alone by the people she trusted to care for him while she worked.
Sameerah Tullis says when she and her mother arrived at Pyramid Academy just before 6 p.m. Monday, her son Jameer was outside in the parking lot. Tullis says she and her mother walked into the building and staff members said they had no idea Jameer was outside.
It's unclear if the toddler walked out the back door himself or was left on the playground when others went inside. Tullis says he could have easily walked down the driveway and into the street.
Tullis says the management at the facility told her the teachers responsible for the mistake will be fired, but she says that's not enough. The family is hoping to file police charges as well.
