MIDDLE TOWNSHIP - Investigators are trying to determine what caused a mosquito-control helicopter to crash in Cape May County. 

The helicopter went down in the backyard of a home in Middle Township just before 11 a.m.

Police say a pilot and passenger were on board and were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The pilot was not hurt, and the passenger's injuries were not life-threatening.

The FAA will head to the area to investigate the crash.
