MORRISTOWN - The Morris County Tourism Bureau is welcoming this season's NFL Super Bowl to New Jersey with a sand sculpture.
The sculpture features George Washington, a football, and the words "Destination Morris County."
Morristown is the site where Washington's Continental Army camped out in the winter of 1779, surviving what would be the coldest winter on record.
County officials say it’s only fitting that the general be the one to rally NFL football players to victory in New Jersey's February weather.
The sculpture is located on Washington and Bank streets, next to the Morristown Green.
