LONG BRANCH - A lockdown has been lifted at Monmouth Medical Center after police investigated a verbal threat against it and found nothing.

Spokesman Justin Edelman said in a statement early Tuesday that Long Branch police have concluded their investigation and that "nothing was found in the hospital or on the campus." He says a verbal threat had been made.

The lockdown began late Monday at the 337-bed facility.

Police and K9 units were called in to look for the reported device.
