Officials in Monmouth County are ready to ride out the storm as Hurricane Irene moves through the area. In Atlantic Highlands, administrator Adam Hubeny said

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS - Officials in Monmouth County are ready to ride out the storm as Hurricane Irene moves through the area.

In Atlantic Highlands, administrator Adam Hubeny said that fire personnel and EMS officials will be on standby, ready for any emergency calls throughout the weekend. He said police officers are also at the ready.

Several shore towns, including Atlantic Highlands, were evacuated with thousands of people across the state finding safety at local shelters.
