LITTLE SILVER - A Monmouth County man is recovering after he was shot in the face by pellets from an air gun.

Bill Timoney was driving with his wife on Willow Road last Saturday when he was struck. The car windows were open, allowing the pellets to enter. He suffered cuts and bruises and injured himself pulling away from the shots.

The couple called 911, then drove back to the area from where the shots were fired and saw four boys around 13 years old. They were subsequently arrested.

Pat Demarzo, of Godfather's Airsoft, sells guns like the ones involved, and says he hates to hear of these kinds of incidents. He says discharging one can lead to charges as serious as those involving real weapons.

Little Silver police have not commented on the case.
