HOWELL - Landon Schultz, 2, is essentially allergic to most foods. His condition is known as Food Protein Induced Entercolitis Syndrome, or F-PIES.
His parents, Fallon and Chris Schultz, have spent Landon's entire life eliminating most foods from his diet. The process has caused Landon to endure painful bouts of vomiting, diarrhea and trips to the hospital.
Landon's mother explained to News 12 New Jersey that the only foods her son can eat are "strawberries, blueberries, grapes and avocados." He gets almost all of his nutrition from specialized prescription formulas.
Doctor Uma Sundaram has treated Landon since he was born. She admits that little is known about his rare condition, but believes it's highly unlikely he'll outgrow it.
The Shultz family has started a foundation called F-PIES United Family Fund. With help from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, donated money will go toward research and awareness of this rare condition.
