MIDDLETOWN - The Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management has lifted its outdoor water use ban for all non-New Jersey American Water customers.

The mandatory outdoor water use ban remains in effect for all NJAW customers.

"Even though the ban has been lifted for many residents, public safety officials urge everyone to continue conserving water," Freeholder Director John P. Curley said. "We look forward to further progress in the days ahead."

Temporary repairs are almost finished at New Jersey American Water Co.'s treatment plant at the Swimming River Reservoir in Middletown Township.
