MARLBORO - A Monmouth County podiatrist says Verizon mistakenly cut the phone lines to his office, cutting him off from patients, pharmacies and hospitals. The doctor says he was told the strike could keep it from completely getting fixed.

Dr. Marc Cohen says his patients tried to call his practice in Manalapan and got a message that the line had been disconnected. He says Verizon has fixed most of his phone service, but that he may still switch service providers.

Verizon released a statement to News 12 New Jersey saying, "We're being very conservative in estimating how long it may take to restore service for customers, but we're focused on beating those estimates."
