MONMOUTH BEACH - A video of two Monmouth Beach police officers jamming out to a Paul Simon song has gone viral.

Their rendition of the hit song "You Can Call Me Al" started as something of a dare from the police chief's adult daughter, who had seen a similar video made by some officers from Tennessee.

Monmouth Beach Patrol officers Jeff Godwin and Peter Rechtman, who are best friends and college roommates, set up a camera inside a parked patrol car while off duty last week.

Residents say they are enjoying the softer, more humorous side of their officers.

The video was originally posted on Monmouth Beach Patrol's Facebook page.
