ENGLEWOOD - Authorities say a Bergen County mom paid her cousin and his girlfriend money to set a car on fire in retaliation for a dispute the car owner's son had with the accused woman's son.

Englewood police say arson charges have been filed against three city residents - 40-year-old Charlene Scott; her cousin, 37-year-old Michael Ellis DeFreese, and 25-year-old Heather Ives. Also charged is Ryan Miller, a 26-year-old Dumont resident who allegedly provided a getaway vehicle and helped destroy evidence.

The charges stem from a Dec. 23 fire that destroyed the unoccupied car parked behind a multifamily residence. The car's owner told investigators that her 18-year-old son was involved in an ongoing dispute with another Englewood teen, and that eventually led to the suspects' arrests late last week.

It wasn't known Monday if any of the suspects have retained attorneys.
