EDISON - Jim Viola had his missing wife declared legally dead just this past Friday, mere days before investigators confirmed that partial remains found in 2002 belong to Patricia Viola.
Investigators confirmed yesterday that partial remains that washed up on a Rockaway beach in July of 2002 belong to Patricia Viola. The Bogota woman had been missing since 2001.
Patricia's Law, signed in 2008, was named after Viola to help families of missing persons. One of the key points of that law is that a law enforcement agency shall accept without delay any report of a missing person and cannot refuse to accept such reports for any reason.
Police are still investigating Viola's disappearance.
