PRINCETON - A milling machine hit a gas line early this morning in Princeton, causing the machine to catch fire.

Fire officials evacuated about a dozen homes in the area along Ewing Street, while PSE&G workers shut the gas line and cooled off the milling machine.

The gas line was repaired after the machine was removed.

Cleanup continued into the late evening.
