PICATINNY ARSENAL - A very special veteran got a much-needed new ride Monday as part of a nationwide program that gives back to soldiers.

Staff Sgt. Jason Ragel received a newly refurbished minivan from Geico, Enterprise and Dynasty Auto Body. He was selected as a recipient of Recycled Rides.

Ragel is a Purple Heart honoree, an active-duty servicemen in the National Guard and a mentor to Wounded Warriors. He says gestures like these give returning soldiers the lift they need.

"During this time of war and things that are going on, it's difficult," Ragel says. "We can't thank people enough for the support."

Ragel says the new wheels will give him more flexibility and space for other Wounded Warriors when they travel to events throughout the area.
