MIDDLETOWN - A house being rebuilt following Sandy was destroyed by a fire early Saturday morning.

Firefighters say the fire started just after 4 a.m. on Thompson Avenue in Middletown. The flames were so hot, they melted the siding on neighboring homes.

No one was living in the home when the fire broke out.
