UNION - A beekeeper is all the buzz in Union after removing nearly 20,000 bees from a hive.

Mickey the Beekeeper's family has been in the business for three generations, and he says it's important to keep them protected since the species is dwindling.

Large hives are common this time of the year when bees are searching for a permanent home, Mickey says. "What we beekeepers like to do now is catch them before they relocate to their permanent address and put them in a hive so we can relocate them into a safe area where they don't bother people," he says.

Mickey says bees are responsible for pollenating about a third of what we eat. He says he loves what he does and being able to save bees is the best part of the job.
