ELIZABETH - Two men accused of killing a Plainfield man last week made their first court appearance Wednesday.

Investigators say Abdul Ward and Anthony Negron shot and killed Wilson “Miguel” Valdez.

Valdez was fatally hit by a bullet fired through the window of Brothers Supermarket where he worked. He was running to protect two customers inside.

Ward and Negron allegedly fled the scene and were captured when the car they were in crashed.

A grand jury will now hear the case.
