Meeting held on security measures at Colts Neck school

COLTS NECK - Parents turned out for a meeting in Colts Neck to discuss security and safety on their children's school campus following an alleged attempted kidnapping last Wednesday.

Police say Kevin Slade, 36, of Freehold, walked into Conover Elementary School while some students were still in the building for after-school activities.

Superintendent Ross Kasun says that the district's protocols worked and that no one had access to the children. He also adds that buildings can never be too secure, which is why they started locking doors whenever someone is inside.
