ASBURY PARK - A meeting was held tonight to decide the fate of the Barack H. Obama Elementary School in Asbury Park, but officials were unable to come to a final decision.

The elementary school could either close or become an early childhood learning center. The Asbury Park School District says it wants more bang for its buck, especially with Gov. Chris Christie (D-N.J.) saying that many schools spend too much and get too little back.

John Napolitani, of the Asbury Park Education Association, told News 12 New Jersey that they decided to keep the buildings the way they are right now, but that it doesn't mean something can't possibly change next week.
