EAST RUTHERFORD - (AP) - The future of the MeadowlandsRacetrack is uncertain after tellers refused to consider a 20percent pay cut.

Bob Liguori of Laborers International Union of North AmericaLocal 137 told The Record newspaper the tellers and admissionsworkers can't afford to take the deal.

New York real estate mogul and horseman Jeff Gural said the cutswere needed to make it financially feasible for him to take overmanagement of the track.

Gov. Chris Christie has threatened to shut down the Meadowlandstrack except for major races because it is losing money.
