PASSAIC - Incumbent Alex Blanco won all 30 districts in his city, easily defeating his closest rival, Jose Sandoval and winning a second term.

Blanco received 4,213 votes while Sandoval only received 1,681. The other three challengers finished far behind- Jeffrey Dye had 347 votes, Diomedes Minaya with 246 and Pablo J. Plaza with 235.

Blanco overcame many of the voters' concerns including the economy, crime and reports about his campaign finance reporting.

Four city council members also won re-election in the city of almost 70,000 residents.

Turnout for the election was 24 percent.
