WOODBRIDGE - A construction project is under way to widen the number of lanes on the New Jersey Turnpike between exits 6 and 9 from six lanes to 12.
New Jersey Turnpike Chief Engineer Richard Raczynski says that cheap construction costs and official fast-tracking from the government have helped speed along the construction project.
Drivers say the completion of the construction project can't come soon enough. Raczynski says that the construction will be "eliminating a major bottleneck on the roadway, especially in the southbound direction." He says the construction will make for great relief for traffic.
