MAHWAH - Hurricane Irene flooded out homes, but it didn't dampen the spirit of giving. Volunteers in Bergen and Morris counties are working together to help those affected by the storm by delivering cleaning supplies.

Suzy Godding says the fact that her home got very little water is what made her want to give back. Godding tells News 12 New Jersey, "It's nothing in comparison to what everybody else is dealing with, I compare it to a war zone. It really does look like a bomb went off here and filled up with water, it's horrible."

In flood-ravaged Paterson, donations of food, clothing, first aid and school supplies will be accepted at the Dominican Parade Headquarters on Saturday. Headquarters are located at:

370 21st Ave. in PatersonDoors will open at 10 a.m..Volunteers will be there until 6 p.m..
