PEQUANNOCK - Homeowners in Pequannock struggled today to clean up things damaged by floodwaters.
Ralph Valent says that in past floods he's lost family pictures and other belongings. He also says it's an exhausting process to pick up after a flood.
Valent says he's learned to keep important things out of the basement.
Joe Johnson was cleaning out his house as well, where he says there was 3-4 feet of water on the first floor of his house, filling his family room and his daughter's bedroom.
Johnson's pictures were hung above the flooding, but the actual walls in his home weren't able to escape the flood. Johnson says that the new sheet rock is mold resistant, but isn't waterproof.
