CRANFORD - Mandatory evacuations are in effect for many parts of New Jersey ahead of Hurricane Sandy's landfall. In Cranford, mandatory evacuations have already been ordered. Offices have been set up to help residents with whatever they may need. Officials throughout the state say they are taking Sandy very seriously and are preparing for the worst. They say that voluntary evacuations could change to mandatory by Monday afternoon.
