HALEDON - A Manchester Regional High School student is facing criminal charges after she was accused of posting abusive comments about nine students online.

After months of investigation, authorities have identified the student who allegedly posted messages on Instagram about her classmates in January. Police are not releasing her name because of her age.

The student faces nine counts of harassment as well as disciplinary action from the school. Officials say it was an isolated incident.

Students and parents discussed bullying at a meeting held at the school Thursday night.

The student faces probation and is expected to have to go to counseling and write apologies to the victims.
