Manasquan boy organizes holiday food drive

MANASQUAN - A youngster from Manasquan proved just how big his heart is by organizing a holiday food drive to benefit New Jersey's needy.

Xander Bossone, 10, worked with his family and community members to fill up a donated truck with non-perishable food items.

Bossone, who turns 11 this week, says he asked his mom for canned goods instead of gifts this year.

"My 10th birthday, I had a Ninja turtles party," he said. "This is so much better!"

The goods will be donated to the food bank of Monmouth and Ocean counties this week.
