Man who shot NJ cop in Bahamas found guilty

EDISON - A man has been found guilty of the attempted murder of John Casper, an 18-year-veteran of the Bergenfield police, in the Bahamas in 2008.

Casper was trying to stop two suspects from stealing a woman?s purse while he was on vacation. He was shot in the chest, but managed to survive.

The other suspect was acquitted on the attempted murder charge, but both men were convicted of attempted robbery.

The two men will be sentenced in November.
