BRICK TOWNSHIP - Authorities say a pursuit by New Jersey state troopers ended with a man shot early this morning.

State Police Lt. Stephen Jones says Michael Zaun, of Delanco, is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Jones says the chase began when a trooper attempted to stop the 30-year-old in West Trenton around 12:30 a.m. after he failed to stop at a red light.

Jones says troopers reported Zaun had fired a gun through the sunroof of his Nissan Pathfinder as they pursued the vehicle along Interstate 195 and south along the Garden State Parkway.

Jones says Zaun pulled his vehicle onto a lawn and ran to the front door of a house in Brick Township. News 12 New Jersey has learned that the home in question belonged to either his fiancee or girlfriend.

Jones says a trooper opened fire after Zaun disregarded commands.

Detectives say Zaun's vehicle was involved in a pursuit earlier in Bucks County, Penn.
