EMERSON - A crane with a worker trapped inside collapsed at an Emerson construction site Tuesday.

Crews were doing lighting work at the baseball field on Thomas Avenue when a hydraulic line snapped and part of the steel structure began to waver.

A worker was stuck inside the bucket but was strapped in properly. He was quickly rescued.

Chief Donald Rossi says the bucket was in danger of hitting the ground or a building. "It certainly could have been a lot worse than it was, so it seems to be for the most part, a happy ending," he says.

The worker was not injured, but was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
