Man faces boating charges in Barnegat Bay drowning death

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP - State police have filed boating charges against a man in connection to the drowning death of a recent Central Regional High School graduate.

Authorities say Trevor Murphy, 18, of Bayville, is charged with failure to report a fatal vessel accident and reckless operation of a vessel.

Murphy and 18-year-old Ryan Worrall were canoeing June 10 when the boat began taking onwater and overturned in Barnegat Bay. Murphy made it back to shore, but Worrall drowned.
