EDISON - A New Brunswick man has been arrested and charged with the 1990 murder of a 15-year-old girl in an Edison motel, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan announced today.
Steven Parkey Jr., 40, of New Brunswick, was arrested yesterday following an intensive investigation by detectives of the Edison Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
Parkey is charged with murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the Oct. 3, 1990 killing of Nikki Adams, of New Brunswick. The prosecutor's office says some of the blood found at the scene belonged to Parkey.
He is being held on $2 million bail. Parkey was arraigned before Superior Court Judge Frederick P. DeVesa at the Middlesex County Courthouse in New Brunswick this afternoon.
