Man accused of trying to lure children in Bergen Co.

HACKENSACK - An Upper Saddle River man is accused of trying to lure a dozen girls into his car over two months in Bergen County.

Authorities say Shahan Achian, 26, would offer the children money for sex. He's being held on multiple counts of luring and child endangerment.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli says the first incident occurred on Oct. 16 in Montvale, when a man in a black vehicle pulled up near a middle school and offered three girls cash for sex.

Officials say similar incidents were reported over the past two months in Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood, Montvale and Allendale.

All the girls walked away and told their parents or teachers, who called police.
