Man accused of killing Marine from Jersey City faces judge

JERSEY CITY - Earl Austin, who is accused of shooting and killing Marine Cpl. Anthony Adams, 23, during an attempted carjacking, appeared in court for the first time today.

Austin appeared in court via teleconference from Hudson County Jail, sitting quietly as the judge read the charges against him. The charges are murder, robbery and possession of a handgun, all in connection with the carjacking that took Adams' life.

Adams' family says all it wants, more than anything, is to get justice for him and that it plans to do everything it can to make that happen.
