SOMERVILLE - A Pennsylvania man who allegedly moved and concealed a woman's body in a highway median after she died in a nearby motel will remain jailed until his trial.

A Somerset County judge issued the ruling Monday after determining that David DeSantos posed a significant flight risk. His attorney had noted that the 32-year-old Henryville man voluntarily called police out of guilt to let them know where he moved the body, though prosecutors say that only happened after he told his stepmother and she contacted authorities.

Somerset County prosecutors have charged DeSantos with disturbing human remains. They're still looking for his alleged accomplice, 26-year-old Nicole Barbour of Ringwood.

Authorities say the pair hid the body of 29-year-old Ashley Castro in a wooded median off Route 22 in Branchburg on March 29. The Hopatcong woman's remains were found on April 5.

Castro’s cause of death has not yet been released.

Officials are asking anyone who may have information on Barbour’s whereabouts to give them a call. She is described as a white woman, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 106 pounds, and has green eyes and blond-brown hair.

Tips can be called in to the Somerset County Prosecutors Office Major Crimes Unit at 908-231-7100, the Branchburg Township Police Department at 908-526-3830 or the Somerset County Crime Stoppers’ Tip Line at 1-888-577-8477.
