Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade unveils floats

MOONACHIE - There is a new fleet of floats for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and News 12 New Jersey got a sneak peek at the facility where they are being kept in Moonachie before they hit the road.

Third-grade students from Fairview School No. 3 got a tour. The students got a preview of the new Zhu Zhu pets float, another called "Frozen Fall," which features figure skaters on a real ice rink, and another called "The Gift of Freedom."

The floats will be taken apart piece by piece next Tuesday night so they can fit into trucks. The pieces of the floats will be brought through the Lincoln Tunnel and then to Manhattan's Upper West Side to be reassembled for their appearance on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade route.
