LYNDHURST - People in Lyndhurst are calling on the federal government to help after the floodwater from Hurricane Irene washed through the nearby area.

Town officials held a press conference earlier today to urge the federal government to come up with a permanent solution for people living along the Passaic River who deal with flooding.

Federal officials say more than 31,000 New Jersey residents have filed claims with the Federal Emergency Management Agency seeking help paying for damage. And nearly $38 million has been disbursed so far.
