Long Branch parents demand answers following incident

LONG BRANCH - Parents are demanding answers following a bizarre incident in a school bathroom at Gregory Elementary School in Long Branch.

It's still unclear what exactly happens, but officials say the incident involved four second-grade boys and a pair of school maintenance workers. Tonight, angry and anxious parents fired questions at the school superintendent at a scheduled Parent Teacher Organization meeting.

Superintendent Michael Salvatore says the public and media response has been overwhelming.

The incident is now under investigation by police and the prosecutor's office. The maintenance workers have both been suspended with pay, as is required under state law.

The superintendent assured parents that new policies are now in place to ensure it can never happen again.
