ENGLEWOOD - Eighth-graders from the Janis E. Dismus Middle School in Englewood created a living wax museum to pay homage to historical women.
One student dressed and acted as the women, while the others made a script and mural. The wax figure was brought to life by the push of a button.
"I think this is really important because it can show young girls how important women can really be, in like, well, in any moment in life. Just because we're girls doesn't mean that we're not as powerful as men can be,” said student Lorena Darcia.
Among the famous women portrayed were Maya Angelou, Barbara Jordan, Marie Curie and Joan of Arc.
