NEW BRUNSWICK - Lisa Lampanelli, known for insult comedy and Comedy Central Roasts, is now showing a different side of herself after a recent life-changing experience.

The comedian, who recently underwent weight-loss surgery and shed 106 pounds, has a dramatically different look. Lampanelli had the gastric sleeve procedure, which means 85 percent of her stomach was removed.

Her new one-woman show about her struggle with weight is being given a trial run in New Jersey.

"I never went to anything except food and guys,” she says. “Like, I always had a boyfriend so I always had that." That trend continued until she met her husband, and decided with him that they would become healthier.

Lampanelli hopes to perform her new show on Broadway next year. For now, she is performing through Friday night at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick.
