Linden Police Sgt. William Turbett pleads guilty to drug distribution

ELIZABETH - A Linden police sergeant pleaded guilty Wednesday for selling marijuana.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office says that William Turbett III, 30, sold the drug. When police searched his Sayreville home they also found a small amount of marijuana inside.

Turbett was already on leave without pay from the Linden Police Department for an unrelated matter when he was arrested.

He is expected to be sentenced soon.
