JERSEY CITY - Liberty Humane Society?s shelter is trying to relaunch itself after coming under fire for overcrowding, unsanitary conditions and putting down animals for no reason.

Interim director Niki Dawson admits there was a problem, but by reorganizing, retraining and working on transferring animals to other shelters, they hope to be able to clean up their image.

The shelter is hosting a circus-themed event to draw people in to adopt pets and is waiving fees on adoptions of pets over one year old.
