LEONIA - A possible restructuring of the Leonia Fire Department is causing friction between city officials and firefighters.

City officials are considering new rules, one of which would bar firefighters with criminal convictions.

The Bergen Record says two top fire officials have criminal histories.

City leaders began tightening the regulations on the fire department, after a firefighter's 3-year-old son was allegedly molested by a teen looking to join the department.
